Exchange Blocking Users from Sending Email Outside the Organization

Gosh I’ve been busy writing a number of How To’s recently the next one in the line up is for companies that want to Block their users from sending emails externally. This is fairly straight forward and consists of creating Distribution Lists that contain the users you want to block and then creating a Transport Rule to actually block the external emails. I won’t go into all the details again but you can check out the post on the ONEIT HubPages Profile.

Don’t forget that if you’re loving all the How To’s that I’m supplying then why not subscribe to the One IT YouTube Channel where I hope to be uploading a few Video How To’s on setting up Windows Domains and Microsoft Exchange just to name a few.

Also remember the new One IT Services Website should be live shortly but in the mean time you can check out One - IT Services for any support queries.

Best Backup Software for Windows Hyper-V Servers

We have just recently published a Hub on the Best Backup Software to use for Windows Hyper-V Servers, we have a lot of experience with this product, so if you have a Hyper-V Host Server or are thinking about Virtualising any of your current physical servers, then give us a call to find out the best setup for your business.

We will be happy to talk to you about your current environment and either install Hyperoo Backup on your existing Virtual Server Host or supply you with the best Server Hardware for your company and virtualise your current servers on it.

We can also offer Off-Site Hyperoo Backup Options where you can securely send the backups of your virtual machines to our Standby Hyper-V Servers which can be booted should a Disaster Recovery Scenario be required. Check out our offsite backup plans at One - Backup and Disaster Recovery, and have a look at our Cloud Server Hosting options if you would rather have your servers managed in the cloud without worrying about your hardware.

For assistance in setting up and installing a Hyperoo - Hyper-V Backup Solution contact the team at One - IT Services to arrange a meeting or quote.

Hyper-V and Linux Guest Support

At One - IT Services we not only specialise in Microsoft Software but often get involved with Linux projects. Recently we set up a Hyper-V Server (running the free edition of Hyper-V Server 2008 R2) for a customer that required a Hosted Cloud Server for their Tax Application. So we created a Virtual Machine on top of the Hyper-V host that was running Windows Server 2003, unfortunately the software was not compatible with Windows Server 2008 R2 because with 2008 R2 the Remote Desktop performance has been improved quite considerably. This server was being hosted in a Datacentre so we activated Remote Desktop Services (Formerly Terminal Services) on the Windows Server Virtual Machine, this allowed our customer to remotely connect to the Virtual Server and run their Tax Program from any machine, anywhere in the world.

This Hyper-V Host Server performed so well for them that they decided to migrate their Website to a separate Virtual Guest machine. Now we could have configured a Windows Server with IIS for this task but because the customer didn’t want to have to pay for an additional Windows Server Licence we decided to create an Ubuntu Linux Virtual Guest on the Hyper-V Host.

This went without a hitch and the website was migrated seamlessly over to the new virtual Linux server along with the DNS and Mail roles. The customer then advised that they would like to run additional websites on the same Linux Server, however the space requirements were more than we had initially anticipated, so we needed a way to increase the Virtual Hard Disk of the virtual Linux machine. This proved to be quite a difficult task as there were a number of articles on the web describing how this is done however none fully described what we were trying to achieve. So we decided to document our process of how to increase the size of a Hyper-V Linux guest virtual disk volume, take a look at our Hub and if it has helped you then leave a comment.

Are you using HubPages to help your SEO

If you are in the business of SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) then you should really check out HubPages.com. This website is a great place for writing articles which generally get indexed by the big G (Google) within 1-2 days.

We have written a Hub on how HubPages determines the score of your Hubs. Now Hub Score is very important to writing articles on HubPages because in order for your Hubs to be DoFollow, (which every SEO Expert strives to obtain to increase your Google PageRank) then you’ll want to follow the guidelines that we have laid out.

We are currently in the process of boosting our Hub Profile Score which will in turn boost the Individual Hub Scores. To obtain DoFollow links on HubPages requires that you have a Hub Profile Score of 75 or more and then for your individual hubs to become DoFollow requires them to have a Hub Score of more than 40.

If you have a website that you would like promoting then why not give One Company a call on 0800148448 and talk to one of our specialist SEO Experts. We will be happy to work with you to create informative articles on HubPages which can then be linked to your main website.

How to get around the new Google Apps limit of 10 users

So you’ve just started your new small business and you signed up for Google Apps only to find that they no longer offer 50 Users on their Free Google Apps service. And if you were to go for their Business Apps alternative you’ll be charged $50 per User Account. So for just 11 users that will be $550 USD per year.

Well here at One IT we have come up with a much more affordable option, Mail Forwarding. What we offer is for a Fixed Charge of just $120 USD per domain per year you can have unlimited users hosted on Google Apps Free Accounts.

So how does it all work, well simply put you change your Domains MX Records to point to our servers addresses and then we process all your emails and forward them on to your Free Google Accounts. As an added bonus we also perform Spam and Virus Filtering on all emails that pass through our services.
